Laura Lake - Assistant Management Accountant
Laura’s career began working for her family’s business in Cornwall, where she completed an Administration Apprenticeship. She covered a variety of tasks within her role, but found her real passion was in book keeping and so began studying for her AAT. Wanting to gain more experience, she secured a role working for a large motor dealer in Plymouth, where she was able to complete her AAT studies. Laura was eager to further her knowledge, moving from industry to practice, and so joined Mark Holt & Co in December 2017 as Assistant Management Accountant. Laura is currently studying for her CIMA qualification, hoping to complete this by the end of 2021, when she will gain Chartered Management Accountant status.
In her spare time Laura is a lover of live music, regularly her husband’s gigs and visiting music festivals – when covid allows! She also enjoys growing vegetables and going on adventures around the coast with her husband and dog, Oscar.
Paul Hyde - Senior Management Accountant
Paul’s accountancy career began here at Mark Holt & Co in December 2002. During his 13 years, he gained invaluable knowledge and a wealth of experience, but in November 2015 he made the tough decision to move to pastures new and secured a role in industry for a local beverage supplier, where he discovered his love for analysing and understanding figures.
Sadly, due to the pandemic, Paul was made redundant. Fortunately, having maintained good relationships with his peers at Mark Holt & Co, he was offered the opportunity to join our Management Accounts team. Paul was eager to return and accepted the offer gladly. His adaptability and positive attitude, make him a real asset to our team and he has been welcomed back with open arms.
